Mack transmissions have a long record in heavy trucking, and the Maxitorque line is the one most fleets know. We sell them new, used and rebuilt, rebuild them in our own shop, and help you pick the right part the first time so the truck is back on the road quickly.
Why the triple countershaft matters
Mack builds the only truck transmission with a triple countershaft design. The load is shared between three countershafts instead of two, so each carries about a third of the torque rather than half. That lowers gear face loading, which helps durability and fuel economy. Only one gear runs submerged in oil instead of two, so the transmission loses less power churning oil, and more of the engine's power reaches the driveline.
